Partner Eric Lecours is a Certified Sommelier of the Court of Master Sommeliers, a Certified Wine Educator of the Society of Wine Educators, a Certified Spanish Wine Educator of the Wine Academy of Spain and has been the Bay Area Director of the French Wine Society. He has taught for the Bordeaux Wine Council and the Wine & Spirit Educational Trust in the Bay Area. A native of California, Lecours has traveled extensively throughout the vineyard areas of Europe and the United States, has worked stages for Kosta-Browne winery in Sonoma, Domaine Grivot in Vosne-Romanee and Domaine Roulot in Meursault and has produced his own vineyard designate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. He holds a degree in Enology and Viticulture from La Viti de Beaune in Burgundy, France, has a BA in economics from UCLA and a Diploma in Wine & Spirit from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust. Lecours created the Wine & Spirits program at Donato Enoteca in Redwood City in 2009 and Desco in Old Oakland in 2013 along with taking over Operations and now CRU.
